The Gateway to a Better St. Louis
Direct support. Direct change.
100% of the donations S4S receives will be given to individuals and families in need.
Katy Trail Drive: Putting on Some Miles 4STL
During the first half of 2025, we’ll be running a “matching” fundraiser. 100% of the money we receive will still be donated to families in the St. Louis area; however, we’ll also put an EXTRA dollar into reserves to ensure we can keep supporting families across the St. Louis region in the future. And to celebrate, we’ll be hitting the Katy Trail (a mile for each $100 raised 😎)!
2022 Annual Report: Students4STL’s Second Year
Just like they always say, the sequel is better than the original! Please click the button below to learn a bit about our growth and learnings as an (official) 501(c)(3) organization. Once again, we saw a return of $10 for every dollar spent by our charity!
2021 Annual Report: Students4STL’s First Year
Every good nonprofit needs an annual report, so here is ours! Click the button below to read about the successes and challenges we faced as a new charity during our first year. For every dollar we invested in Students4STL’s events and fundraising, we raised $10 for Fresh Rx families. That’s a great start!
Cash Relief Works
Students4STL focuses on direct cash payments to families in the St. Louis region, especially those with new and expectant mothers. We believe this is the most efficient form of charitable support. The money given to our recipients may be used for rent, school supplies, food – anything that could allow them to meet their basic needs. You can read further about the effectiveness of cash relief according to “Baby’s First Years,” a study aiming to measure the impact of cash aid on infant health (lead by Dr. Katherine Magnuson and Dr. Kimberly Noble), by clicking the button below. If you are interested in the usefulness of cash relief at a larger scale, the Stanford Basic Income Lab is a helpful resource.
Community Partner: Operation Food Search
In its early phases, Students4STL will provide cash relief to selected clients of Operation Food Search’s Fresh Rx program. Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search is a hunger relief organization that provides free food, nutrition education and innovative programs proven to reduce food insecurity. With a strategic focus aimed at ending childhood hunger, OFS empowers families and increases access to healthy and affordable food. The agency provides food and services to 200,000 individuals on a monthly basis – one-third of whom are children – through a network of 330 community partners in 27 Missouri and Illinois counties and the city of St. Louis.
